I dont know if anyone has had this issue or not, but the torsion bar mount snapped on my truck

obviously a 4x4, 1996 hoe

the first time it snapped, we didnt know what the cause of a knocking, or slapping sound was, we found out that is snapped and the torsion bar was causing the cross member at the back side of the torsion bar to twist up and down with the rotation of the bar

we replaced it and for probably a day and a half it was all quiet driving, then out of no where it snapped again

i have another replacement, but i want to know if anyone has had this happen where that part would continue to break, because its a lost cause to continualy by the part and replace it for a short period of time of quiet

thanks

can you get a picture up so I can see if something looks wrong to me. I have never heard of this before without really beating a truck

Yeah I had the same issue a few months ago and i got it replaced, its been fine ever since. And I have hit my share of potholes etc. you really need to beat on these to snap em... so yes a picture would be good, perhaps it messed up the crossmember?

lol, sorry for the delay in the response here, been kinda hectic round here, just started a new job

but i'll try and get a picture tomorrow or thursday, but what would you like for a picture? of the cross member and the mount, one of the control arm where the bar goes in, or what?

it snapped right at the top of the mount

and idk if its the china brand, lol, but as i said, the first one we bought came from the dealer (40 bucks), and the one thats sitting on the bench is from rock auto (10 bucks i think, lol)

The passenger side of my 94 S15 Jimmy broke replaced both with ones off ebay and all good since been around 2 years ago. So if I was you go ahead and replace both maybe that has something to do with it.
