I just bought a 01 GMC Yukon. I brought it home and the next day when I start it the tow/haul light was on. I pressed the button and nothing, after a few minutes it shut off by itself. I'm pretty sure I have a short in the wiring. My question is, is there any way to completely disable the tow/haul function? I do not tow any thing as of this time and it is just annoying.

Just like the others said, there's a pair of wires going to that switch that always break or short together. If you just tape up the ends you'll disable it. They get caught in the shifter.
