My 2013 LTZ has chrome closed end loops instead of tow hooks. I couldn't get my tow strap in there to pull someone out. Do they make open ended hooks like my 2003 had ?

Just a couple thoughts. @the blur
Here is what we use on 5/8" anchor chain when we cannot pass a shackle through the link either by the hook or the pin. We have a small gauge loop of Spectra that we pull through and choke on the chain link then make our connection to that loop via shackle or choking another piece of line depending on our application.

Similar to this photo. I can get a better photo on Monday if you want to see better what I mean. The Spectra is super strong, won't chafe, mar or scratch the chrome or paint, is soft, stows easy and can be coupled with shackles, thimbles or choked with other lines.

Would be perfect for what you are trying to achieve without having to change out tow hooks. This is the local company, just down the road from my house and work, that we use for all hardware, lines, braiding and towing applications.

That would be helpful. I use 20,000lb tow straps from harbor freight, and they don't fit through the OEM closed ended "hooks".

Yep know the problem as those woven straps especially where they are stitched together do not bend or squeeze together.

Monday I will get a picture and post it up for you. At least an idea for you to consider.

Why would you want a open ended hook vs a close ended hook ... i hate a open ended and really wish i had a closed tow hook all i think i would require would be a tow strap with good hooks on either end

open ended anything is a "beyond bad idea", I have performed and been present for rigging gone bad for over 30 years. Never use the open if you can help it.
Time to upgrade you box of rigging supply. use short straps/Slings to place throe the closed tow hook. 18" to 24" X 2", lots to choose from online. Think Safety, It could be your life that your saving.
