Rear end gearing also determines towing capacity.

The higher the gearing number....3.73, the bigger tow cap.

Atleast you can drive fast while towing.

My '99 Kon is 4wd. I have a 3500lb horse trailer and with 2 horses it totals up to about 6k+. My Kon came with the tow pkg so it has oil cooler and trans cooler as well as hd hitch. The trailer has an equalizer bar setup. Kon and trailer tow well, except for steep hills. Then I just take my time.

For safety reasons, never tow with the bumper. That is just a carry over from the old days. Back when they could really build a bumper. Nothing is worse than a runaway trailer at 60+mph.
