Towing

I'm sure this has been covered somewhere but I get tired of reading a million and six posts so bear with me.

Finally bought my GTO and tried to get a shipping company to ship it to me. Well I've waited three weeks now and have heard nothing back from them so I'm taking matters into my own hands.

If I end up towing a tandem axle trailer with my Yukon am I going to have any problems other than terrible gas mileage? Truck has the factory tow package, tranny has 135k with no problems and I'd like it to stay that way.

Round trip would be around 1600 miles.

Anybody that has a little insight or experience towing a car that far I would appreciate your input.

I think they're around 4k but don't quote me on that.

It shouldn't be a problem with a dual-axle trailer and trailer brakes. I'm taking a 5k mile trip with 4,500lb camper this summer. Mine's a '99 with the towing package and I had a brake controller installed.

4K+ for the Goat 2K for a steel open trailer. So you'll be at 6-6100 total. What's the towing capacity on the Yukon ?
Roads cleared up there ? Snow etc . makes for a heck of a tow !

shouldnt have any issues
all thought depending on your tranny if your running like in my tahoe the 4 speed 4l60e tranny and 3.42 rear end id probably avoid mountain passes or steep grades itll be a snail pulling a load with those high gears if you got 3.73 or 4.10 rear that makes a world of a difference going up any mountrain passes except keep an eye on your gas guage

put an auxiliary trans cooler on it. should be fine.

I tow my 2000 Trans Am with my 99 Denali all the time without issues.
