Hey everyone, I just purchased a set of 2021 RST wheels that I put on my 2018 Tahoe, and the fitment is perfect. I am trying to figure out the TPMS situation now, and dealers are completely useless as they will not provide part numbers over the phone, and they want to gouge you on the price to buy them through the dealer vs what is available online.
Based on my research, I am seeing two different part numbers for the 2018 Tahoe, each with a different frequency. The dealer I spoke to on the phone did at least confirm that the frequency for the part made for my car was 315mhz. Interestingly, that appears to be the frequency that the 2021+ vehicles use.
I have read a lot of threads about how the 2021+ sensors do not work with the previous gens because of the difference frequency, but is there a way to make them work given that these are the same frequency? One nuance I did notice is that the 2021+ say they are auto-learn, which may be the reason they are not cross-compatible.
Anyone have any experience with this?
The part number provided by Chevrolet.com for my Vehicle was 13540604
The part number ACDelco site has for the 2021 is 13538759
Thank you!
