I have an '06 Tahoe LT. About 8 months ago I purchased a set of nice wheels that came off a 2014 Silverado - a Craigslist find. About a month ago the "Check Tire Pressure" message came up on the DIC as well as the Tire Pressure warning light on the dash. All tires have appropriate pressure.
So a couple of Q's...
1. The guy I bought the wheels from said they did not have pressure sensors. Is that right? I'm thinking that coming off a new-ish truck, and nice wheels, would have the TPMS.
2. If the new wheels have sensors, will they communicate with my '06?
3. If the wheels do not have sensors is there a way to turn off the tire pressure warning light on the dash?
My plan is to replace the valve stems in my new wheels with the sensors in my old wheels when I get new tires -- but that may be another year down the road... I'd like to fix this now instead of waiting.
Thanks!
