2011 Tahoe LTZ.
My low pressure light came on and display tells me my RR tire is low.
I put the correct pressure in, does the sensor not know when the pressure is correct so that it can reset? Do I need to buy the reset tool to get this thing so it's not showing a low tire, or am I missing something simple?
Either I am making it a lot more complicated than it needs to be, or it actually is more complicated than it needs to be.

you posted in the wrong section, im sure a mod will put it in the right section for ya.

for an 11 id think you need a tpms tool. as well as a new tpms, cause if its not reading right its likely dead. they have a battery inside them that does die.

Thanks. I didn't think it was the right section, but I was just following the section a previous poster had about the TPMS. I just want to confirm that this is in fact a lot more complicated than it needs to be. I don't mind that, but if it's something super simple I don't want to miss that before I start buying stuff.

the tire need to come at least partially off to change the sensor. worst part. a tire shop could fix ya up all in one stop.

Did you then drive the car and get the speed up past 25 mph? The sensors go to sleep and sometimes take a while to communicate back to the RCDLR when parked.

If your tire pressure is simply low, then you do not need to reset a properly working TPMS, after adding air to the tire, and the low pressure warning should go away on its own.

If the TPMS battery is low, then entire TPMS needs to be replaced, and the batteries are not replaceable. In my limited experience in this area, when the TPMS battery gets low, it can no longer communicate with the truck's system.

Thank you, I was hoping there was a simple solution to this. I took it down the road, and just as I was losing hope the light went off before I made it back to the house.
