Just in case anybody else doesn’t like the airing up tire tpms reset procedure, this super cheap tool (less than $10) does work for my 2005 to do it just a little easier.

My kids, who air up my tires for me, said that this was the BEST INVENTION EVER!!! LOL

I bought this one for my 06 in the Spring from AESS Wave on sale. They had the best price and it comes with 8 sensors. I was a little afraid to use it and kept on putting it off.

Finally decided to reprogram them a few weeks ago and it was honestly very easy. I did my 2 fronts. Took them labeled to my local tire shop and the guy charged me $10 to swap them. It was sunny and dang hot and he did it in like 20 minutes. $5 tip I felt was fair. No more annoying "service tire monitoring sensors" light in the cluster.

BTW, I never thought how folks do tire rotations on vehicles with TPMS? Sensors wind up on the wrong location? Or the newer vehicles perform some calibration that determines what sensor is where?

Some have a manual procedure to reset the position, and some newer vehicles do it automatically. My Autel scanner has the built-in TPMS programming and position reset app.

04 Yukon XL Denali.
Tried the above procedure. Got two honks after cycling the headlight switch four times. Let air out of left front for 10-12 seconds. Waited for a single honk, but it never happened.

Does this mean I need new sensors? I doubt they have ever been changed. Bought it from the original owner, but have had to do a lot of deferred maintenance (which I fully expected).

ALSO, after doing this my messages are now in French!!!!

So far has worked on an 09 Silverado. lists a bunch of vehicles that it is supposed to work on. I charged $40 for the usage and it paid for itself already.

I am not against purchasing a tool. But, I believe if the batteries in the senders are bad, I will need to replace them.

Am I right?

Just used my tool after a tire rotation yesterday. Worked perfectly again. I did notice the 9 volt battery has to go in “backwards,” the friggin + and - are labeled wrong on the tool lol
