I have an 2001 Yukon that the traction control and tow mode doesn't work. The only suspect thing I could find under the dash was a single wire had been spliced. I was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem and could help out

remove the plastic shroud around the ignition/upper steering column and inspect the wire that comes out of the shifter and snakes under and around the column, usually that wire breaks after a period of time, sometimes it is a very visible clean break and other times it breaks where it is clipped on the column to keep it in place. all the tow haul button does is create a momentary ground to the bcm so when it breaks the button wont do anything, if it is broken you can patch it or buy a new shifter knob it will come with a new wire.

if you patch it keep in mind each time you move the shifter up and down the wire will move also so keep the wire in place so it wont get stuck in something when you move the shifter.

I did that already but I'll double check it when I get off work tomorrow. There's a good chance that I just overlooked it.

you can test the wire by unplugging it and then connect a meter to the end, when you press the tow button it should make a ground, you can also ground the wire to the frame while the key is on and the tow/haul function should light up

do you have a trailer brake controller
I looked again and I found that the wire was split under the clip. Hopefully the same thing is wrong with my traction control that way I don't have to do anymore investigating
