We have a year left on our warranty, and only 12k miles on the truck (yeah...well...new baby and I'm retired). We figure now that the baby is a little older we will be driving a bit more...weekend get aways etc. (plus I want to go back to work sooooo bad)

She mentioned trading the our 15i Denali XL in on a new 17....

We have the upgraded stereo, with carplay, which is the only difference I can see.

I would do it in aheartbeat if I could get the surround cameras like in the escalade. But cant afford the escalade, as its about 30k more than the Denali....

We may look at the 392 Dodge Durango SRT....

Any reason to get the 17? Are there any differences over the 15i 8 speed?

Can't really comment on '15 vs. '17, but I do own a '15 Durango Limited. Great SUV. Dodge (or should I say Mercedes) really nailed that platform. Much different animal than the Yukon XL. The SRT looks amazing.

We have a Charger 392 SRT and like it.
I like how the Denali tows.
I figure the dodge will have much more hp and tq with the 392.
But will it be as composed with a trailer and comfortable driving around. The Denali is great on the two road trips we have taken it on.

To just switch to the same vehicle but a couple of years newer, I would say it would all come down to what kind of a deal you can get on the trade in and then deal on the new one. Otherwise I don't think it would make much financial sense just because the warranty will be up in a year, especially if you've had a fairly trouble free 12k miles and 2 years. As far as I know there aren't a whole lot of changes to make the upgrade worthwhile if it doesn't really work out deal wise. It's not like you are going from a Tahoe LS/LT to a Tahoe RST edition (when they come out) where you could pick up a ton of different options and features.

yeah. That is what we were just talking about. If we are worried about the warranty, I guess I could see about purchasing an extended warranty.

I wish the Denalis had the video cameras like the escalade. That would be enough for me right there...That and the cooler in the center arm rest... But to upgrade to the Escalade is too much grit.

Then again, an out of warranty vehicle is an easier vehicle to talk my wife into a whipple for...
