Hi all,
2017 Tahoe premier 82500 miles. 5.3…6 speed
My question is what can I do to
Increase the longevity of my
Transmission and torque converter. This is the last truck
For this old man and I need
It to last along time
By the way afm off with a range
Module. Thanks in advance for
Any feedback/advice
Don’t really see a fluid/filter
In service records

I am hoping for longevity like you. I have had the Range disabler on for the last 4 years and a Mishimoto Transmission cooler for about the same amount of time since I purchased my 2016 Yukon in 2020 with 50,000 miles. The Mishimoto is pricier than most transmission coolers but you'll be hard pressed to find a more professional and thorough installation kit. My trans temp has not exceeded 170 degrees and that is towing a boat in Arizona in 110 degree weather. Also make sure your transmission fluid thermostat is either upgraded to the cooler one or just flip the internal pill in the existing one. I also purchased a transmission pan with a drain bolt for easy servicing. The cooler and cleaner you keep the trans the less likely problems will arise. Good luck.

My question is what can I do to increase the longevity of my 6L80E and torque converter?
You already disabled V4 mode, congratulations.
Change your ATF at least as often as the SEVERE SERVICE schedule suggests.
Address the ATF cooling situation as suggested by Rygrego.
