**edited, hopefully the videos work now...

as i said, here's my issue, hopefully these videos can help you to help me....yes it does have a leak, i haven't climbed under it yet....

here's 4 different videos, hopefully you can see and understand what i'm talking about....asi i said, it starts out fine, changes the first time fine, and then high revs, if i let my foot off the gas, 1 out of 5 times it catches, maybe 1 out of 3 if i'm going fast enough.....starting from 2, the car goes fine....i think someone said to try that......but it doesn't change, is it supposed to?

if you start in 2nd it will stay in 2nd. it's good for snow.
Videos no work for me, black screen.
Can you baby it by the 3-4 shift and get it into OD? very easy throttle so it doesn't slip when it does shift. if you can get it into 4th, will it still slip then?
Have you tried to manual shift it? start out in first...shift to second...shift to third...etc.

hmmmm.

ok, that explains 2nd and the high whine, hahahaha, so it wasn't supposed to shift..... that's fine.

if i start out good, it ***** fine, then the second shift is where it goes outta control, if i pull my foot off the gas, and i'm going fast enough, once i hit the gas again, it catches, not everytime, but more often than not. i've only driven it as fast as 50mph, because it has a tire out of balance, and it needs an alighment, i think it needs new shocks and springs......the steering wheel has a lot of play, it also needs brakes, hahahahaha, but yea, one thing at a time.....i'll figure out the vids...

Start saving for a new trans. It sounds like it's slipping in 2nd but holds 3rd.
When it's starts slipping like that....it's done. The ATF is full?

Ok, so now, rebuild vs new??? comments or suggestions? i can get one from the dismantler for about $1000, then i get $350 for my core, and then $350 to install....

is that 1k for a used? if it is, do you live in Hawaii? $1,350 for a rebuilt installed isn't a bad price.

no i'm in California. it's $1000 for one from the dismantler, i then give them my core, which gives me a $350 credit, then it's going to cost me $350 for the swap, so basically $1k swapped/installed. i get a 6 mo warranty on the swapped tranny.

or

should i have it rebuilt?

My friends did this, it had lost 2nd gear and had to be rebuilt. His failed to loss of pressure and it just went out with no warning signs.

You need to shop around, if your in the valley by SAC or further south. look on CL and there are a bunch of rebuilt 4L60's that are around the same price.
