I found this forum after Google'ing and decided to post up my issue to see if anybody had experienced the same thing....

Car
2003 Yukon Denali
139k Miles

Issue
About 2 weeks ago I was driving home from Tahoe and was getting back into town on to surface roads. My car seemed to be driving just fine and shifting normally on the freeway. I stopped at a stoplight after a 3 hrs nonstop drive then accelerated again.

I noticed the shift between 1st and 2nd gear very abrupt and rough, akin to dropping the clutch on a manual, then the shift from 2nd to 3rd was still rough but not as bad. I took note of this to check it out tomorrow.

The next morning and the rest of the week my car drove just fine with no sign of weird shifting.

This past weekend I took a long car trip and the issue presented itself again only after a long period of driving, I noticed it when I went to stop for gas. I had the same symptoms and received a solid check engine light as well. This morning my car seems to be driving/shifting fine again but the check engine light is still on.

I have not noticed any issues just driving around town at all, it only seems to happen when I drive for an extended period of time.

Does anybody have any insight? I found another thread here with someone experiencing similar issues(http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14012) but it was on a '99 Yukon SLT, that suggested I need a rebuild of my Torque Control Converter.

I am gravely scared of going down the road of a whole new tranny....

I have this exact same problem. Can you please let me know what it took to fix the problem? Vehicle is going into the shop tomorrow. Thanks!!!!!!
