So just recently my transmissions been acting wierd. E.g. I was stopped and I get on the gas to go and it's like the truck doesn't want to go. Almost like it's starting out in second. Then when I was going down the street today it went into overdrive and it was like it was slipping or didn't have pressure. you could actually hear and feel the engine swelling. like it wouldn't hold the gear. But the transmission is like brand new installed at the dealer. It doesn't always do this either. Seems wierd though. What do you guys think???

If they just replaced it, take it back. No reason a new tranny should be acting this way.

Have you checked the fluid? when I drain mine, I check it often to make sure it's "settled" It may be low, if not, take it back

Mine does that too. Where are you guys draining the fluid? I tried to unbolt what I believed to be the drain plug (on the bottom of the tranny pan), but it was like it was welded on there. I didn't want to strip it.

Yeah fluid was good. I even changed it because of this but still doing it. The tranny probably only has a few thousand miles on it. But since my original post it hasn't been doing it.

my honest answer, all my buddies and i have gm vehicles, trucks sucs and some cars. every person ive talked to with a gm truck has tranny problems i.e hesitating, jerking, kicking...all the weird stuff. mine does it too, i think its just a chevy thing. my transmission is 30l miles old and the truck has 130k on it. so ive grone to live with it waiting for it to go out

Definitely get it checked out at the dealer. Having sloppy operation over that speed range makes me think of multiple hydraulic problems.

FWIW, GM doesn't issue "new" transmissions during replacements anymore and hasn't done so in some time. Having had a few dozen replaced in the past, pretty much every one has been a remanufactured unit (i asked for "brand new" since this was a business expense, but multiple dealers told me they can't get those). They're not bad, per se, but every now and then one will make it off the line with bugs.

On second thought, before going back to the dealer... crawl under the truck and make sure the electric plug at the trans is firmly clipped in. Maybe unplug and reinsert to make sure there wasn't any dirt causing a bad connection at one of the pins.
