This just started yesterday. Its a 05 tahoe with 5.3/4l60e. I did a lot of highway driving and when I parked it I noticed that it is leaking trans fluid. Upon further inspection it looks like its coming form the vent tube for the trans. Anyone experience this? It seems to be shifting fine, and the fluid is ok, red, and smells clean. I'm hoping that its not burning itself up and heating up the fluid which is causing it to puke out, but I'm afraid it might be. I did some searching online and it mentioned that the pump could be going bad Should I start looking for a trans?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Kevin

Before you go and start looking for a new trans why dont you get it serviced and maybe get the tranny lines blown out. You never know maybe something is blocking the line. You also could get an infrared temp gauge and after you take it for a drive see how hot its running. You can even take off a tranny line going to the cooler and on the out port of the tranny and see if you have pressure. Put in a container and let someone start the truck. NOT for a long time of course just for a few seconds. Of course top off fluid after. Just thought best of luck!!

And if that is not what you want to do bring it to a tranny shop and see what they say.
