This evening, cruising about 65 coming from a couple miles of 35 mph city driving my trams temp just kept creeping up and was at 201 when I got to my destination. Outside temp was 101. Is this ok for the temp outside, or too high.

On my way back, the temp was 95 and the trans temp got up to 195.

I've been noticing it getting into the 180's around town the last week or so.

Thanks for any input.

2007 sub z71 with 60,000 miles. 4 speed. Everything stock.

I have an 07 with 60k miles ill see it get up to 200 doing about 75-80 on long trips when outside temps are 95+
As far as I know that is still within tolerance but a fluid change and maybe aux Trans cooler would be very beneficial to it lifespan. I'll be doing the first if not both pretty soon

Thanks for the input. I'm looking into coolers now and what the best fluid would be to put in it.

My wife just called and is on the highway at about 75 mph and its 208*. Outside temp is 101*. Seems pretty high to me, but maybe not for the temp on the road.

It's fine......mine gets to 200-210 in the AZ summer all the time. Temp outside is 105-115 degrees. I get the fluid flushed at the dealer every 50k miles.

I just got back from a trip to Midland on Monday/Tuesday and was seeing 209 degrees while driving 85 mph in 104 degree outside temp. It would go down to 185 degrees on occasion but would come back up to 200-209 fairly quickly if I goosed it for hills or passing. I have a '13 Z71 Tahoe with the trailering package so the transmission cooler should be included. I was shocked at the temp for sure and wonder what is the peak operating temperature I should be concerned about? If I hit almost 210 without any real load other than speed and a typical Texas summer temperature, how often should I be flushing/changing transmission fluids?
