transfer case blues

I have a 99 chevy tahoe 2 door 4 wheel drive the transfer case is shot The part number is NP8 I have another transfer case that bolts up but the plugs dont match is there any way to make a differant transfer case besides the NP8 work on my truck I cant afford what they want for the NP8 It has the 4 button control switch on the dash I also have the tranny that goes with the other transfer case I have it is also a 4 button on dash but I bel;ieve it came out of a 96 tahoe please help

You have to stick with the np8/nv246 unit. you can not put in a nv-243 unit from a 1996 and expect it to work. There are different internally and electronically. Keep shopping or have it rebuilt or find a junkyard or Craigslist deal.
