Ive looked all over the internet and have had contradicting answers so I figured I would ask here. My 2002 Escalade burned up transfer case last week. It is a GM149 from New Process. I also have a Borg Warner 4481. It is a non electronic transfer case. Can I use the Borg Warner transfer case in place of the GM149? I know the 149 uses the viscous and BW does not. Will that matter? I’ve spoke with 2 guys here in Phoenix and they said they have done it in the past. But, I’m not sure if they are just trying to make a quick sale on Craigslist. Please help!
