Sorry for the repost but I'm trying to get this fixed by tonight (wife's Tahoe). I put in a new encoder motor switch and I couldn't get the motor back on due to misalignment of the shaft. Here is my post from the drivetrain forum. I am off to get the 4wd selector at the stealership to get this fixed!
Hey everyone - I'm in the middle of changing out the sensor in the encoder motor. I have the new sensor installed in the motor and have a question about the rest of installation. I did not switch the transfer case to neutral before starting since I didn't read that anywhere, but the youtube video shows the motor connected to the electrical switch but not mated. Then the guy switches it to 2wh and then fastens the bolts. Kinda confused...thanks in advanced.
PS - there was a little oil inside the motor. Is that normal?
PSS - how the hell do you line up the shaft with the collar?
PSSS - now the switch inside truck went to 4low and the light just blinks when I press the auto or 4h...switch bad? This really makes the shaft and collar now where close to matching. Researching how to get back to original position...thx
