I have an '02 Tahoe Z71. I had my transmission rebuilt last week, and I developed a clunk. When the transmission is under load and I shift from park to drive (while in 2hi), the shaft at the front diff twists a bit and a clunking noise is associated with it. It doesn't do it so much if I'm on flat ground, but if I'm on an incline such as my driveway then it does and I can feel it shake the truck a bit to. The owner of the shop mentioned the clunk to me and said he had it greased so it wouldn't do it again, but that obviously didn't help.
Furthermore, I took her out and threw the 4Lo on yesterday on a trail to ensure the 4x4 was working properly and although it in fact did engage smoothly, it started whinning too as I accelerated. It stopped when I went back in to 2hi.
I already know to take it back to the shop, but before I do I would like to be armed with some information.
