transfer case questions

Has anyone on here replaced there transfer case? I need to replace mine on ky 01 yukon. It makes a whining sound when I accelerate. I replaced the axle bearings but told by a mechanic that it is the transfer case? Any info or help on where to get one one or how much they run for? Guess there was metal shavings in the fluid.

So does it make the sound in 2wd or 4wd? Do you have autotrac?

i have it on 2wd havent tried driving it on 4wd yet
