I recently had a transfer case shift motor failure. It failed with the tc in neutral, stranding me. I pulled the shift motor off and tried to manually rotate the shaft to get it in any gear, but I didn't know what those shaft positions would be.
If you find yourself in this position, know that the index mark on the 03+ selector shaft points at 10:00, 12:00, 2:00, 4:00, and 6:00 o'clock. These positions correspond to the gears selected in the screen shot below.
