Have these codes on 2022 Yukon gas engine. Still under warranty, but wondering what to expect, and how big or non-big of a fix this will be for them. Thanks

This most likely is related to the transmission valve body problems GM is having with their 10 speed transmissions. There have been 2 major recalls so far, one for the GM Light Trucks and SUVs, then more recently one for Cadillacs and the Camero. I highly suspect this recall will be expanded to include the 2023-2025 models pretty soon. Have seen 2025 model problems at under 1000 miles!

Was your truck ever recalled for the TCM software update?
If so, was the software updated?
What are the symtoms when you are driving? No shifting, harsh shifting, Limp mode?

If the software update was performed, then apparently only the P0747 code is what triggers the extended valve body coverage, but if your truck is still within the powertrain warranty, you should be covered for a replacement valve body if this is what is suspected to be the cause of your error codes.

The PROBLEM is there are no replacement valve bodies to be found at the moment. Some customers have been waiting in excess of 3 months for a replacement valve body!!!

Suggest you search this forum and the Engine and Powertrain section carefully. Search my user name as well.

I have 6000 miles on my truck and no transmission related problems, YET, however, I am spending $1500 of my own money and updating the valve body myself because I am a firm believer it is not IF but WHEN the valve body will become a problem.

Maybe if you are lucky, your problem may be something like a bad battery, but be informed and prepared for what you may be up against!

Good luck, please update what happens.

If the vehicle is unsafe to drive based on what happened, please submit a NHTSA complaint as it may help others in the future.

Thanks for the reply and the info. It’s my wife’s car but she mentioned it seemed off a few days ago, then yesterday as she pulled in the CEL came on. Real rough shifting at first she said and then I’m not even sure if it shifted at all as the CEL came on just before the house. We bought it certified pre-owned, it’s around 3.5 years and 40k miles, but under the additional year and 12,000 mile warranty provided when purchased certified pre owned, so all should be covered. I don’t know specifically if it had a software update but with the new info provided I’m going to look further into all that now. Can’t get in until Wednesday but I suspect they will have it a while unfortunately, so we will be advocating for a loaner right off the bat.

Powertrain Warranty is good to 5yrs, 60K, so you are good to go even without the CPO, get it in.

Warranty is not much help if parts are not available!

As I menetioned to the OP, be informed, if his problem is the valve body, priority is given to those that have been waiting and have cases open with GM. Hopefully the valve body flood gates will open in the near future, but until then good luck!!

It is help in the context that getting it logged and parts ordered under warranty at least spares the owner from the expense and puts it on GM.

While it is nice to have things covered by warranty, at some point folks need to move on and take things into their own hands. This is why at 6000 miles I have ordered the proper parts to rebuild my valve body before it becomes a problem.

The issue is the if the valve body is partially leaking, you can have slippage that may not be noticed by the driver or the TCM and excessive wear can occur within the transmission that may not fail until outside of the warrany window.

The unfortunate part is I have absolutely NO FAITH that GM will do the right thing to correct the valve body problem to allow it to last even though they have extened the warranty on some of the valve bodies for 15 years/150,000 miles, BUT GM DID NOT extend the warranty on the transmission!

Life is a gamble.

Yea I totally get if there are no parts it's hard to fix the problem, but otherwise not a whole lot else we can do at the moment other than get it in. We will know more Wed after they get the car and have to go from there. Hopefully it's something else that can be a quick fix, but even if it is I'm not sure I would want to keep the car with all the known issues going on. Are the newer model cars prone to the issues as well? Not that 2022 is an old car, certainly not old enough to be having these issues.
