I want to do a tranny flush can anyone tell me which line is the one that I need to disconnect to feed the hose that leads to the bucket. I follow the lines from my transmission I have included pictures20250215_124850.jpg20250215_124850.jpg

take both lines off the rad, only one will push fluid out, the other will be sucking in the new fluid.

put clear tubing off both lines to 5 gallon buckets, one of them fill with your new trans fluid, the other to catch the old fluid, idle the engine till new fluid comes out the line.

So you're saying disconnect both these lines? I did disconnect the one on top and not a drop of fluid came out. Then I disconnected the one on the bottom and fluid came out of it. But I didn't turn the car on because I didn't want to do anything that would hurt my transmission. I wanted to make sure I was undoing the right line.

yes, those two. just get some hose on the ends to buckets, then fire it up and just let it idle. sucking a little bit of air wont kill anything.

I don't know if I replied the right way. Hopefully you got it. Maybe you can help me with this too. If the bottom line off the transmission leads to the bottom line off the rad and the upper line off the transmission leads to the right side of this thing ( I attached pics.) Then what is the line that comes from the top of the rad. And connects to the left side of this this thing for?

That's the external transmission cooler. The tranny fluid flows through the heat exchanger in the radiator first, then through the external cooler, then back to the transmission.

See this: https://cpt4l60e.com/4l60e-transmission-cooler-line-flow/

There are numerous YouTube videos showing the fluid replacement procedure -- are you using any of those as a guide?

the cooler is just a loop added really, so yes you could just pull one line off the rad one off the cooler, then your flushing the cooler too. comes down to what ever is easier i suppose.

I am and that's why I'm so confused because they all take off the top one on the radiator and had fluid come out but when I did that and turned the car on.... nothing no fluid came through the hose

I really appreciate you taking time to help me. I'm a very capable woman but by no means do I have a vast knowledge of cars. I have replaced my alternator by myself and I do like diy when it is appropriate so thank you for your patience. OK let me see if I got it. Since I'm introducing new fluid by way of the dipstick and I'm trying to capture all of the old before it would be returned, would disconnecting it here work? Since I'm waiting to see the bright red new fluid which tells me that all the old fluid has been flushed out wouldn't this be an appropriate interuption point to make sure my new fluid has cycled all the way through the system
