The c-clips I removed and installed with a pic and by hand.

But what I see leaking is not the tube @ the fitting but the end of fitting @ radiator.

Those fittings are not supposed to be removed, they seldom seal properly again. They are what hold the transmission cooler tank inside the radiator tank.

I will try to clarify.

The fittings in above pic from rockauto have to be installed and then the line snaps into them. They don't come installed.

Maybe I could reuse my old ones from old rad?

But when tightened into rad they leak.

Try some Permatex No. 3 Form-A-Gasket on the threads and reinstall after cleaning the female threads with a towel wet with brake cleaner and then a dry towel. Before doing any of that the o-ring in the fitting could be kaput.

As @swathdiver stated, the threaded part of those fittings is not meant to be "serviceable." VERY difficult to ever seat them again.

IF you're leaking from the push-to-connect lines, I'd simply bet on cheap fittings.

I will check on that but would this stuff work similar? Got it today.

I didn't realise until tonight that some rad come with the fittings installed. Mine didn't. Wish I had known.

Now I'm trying desperately to solve it.

The issue here is if the sealant you purchased will react with what ever it is sealing; permatex can get confusing as they sell 100 sealants for the same application. I actually use EZ Turn that is fuel and oil resistant and used for aircraft applications.

Well, there's thread sealant on there and I don't think those use o-rings on the outside. How about some good old fashioned teflon tape?

Yeah. A simple tapered thread with o-ring seal seems like a far better and easier design. Wish it had o-ring seal.

It looked like just a couple threads with light thread locker so it doesn't back out.

I read on a forum not to use tape in risk of it getting into the fluid. They said liquid was by far better for a trans line.

I will try the teflon I bought I think. Stated for oil resistance, heat, hydraulic lines, etc. Can't think of why a thick layer won't fix it but these are cars, ya know. Ha. The threads seal a bit but not meant to seal so unsure how this will work.

Depends on line pressure for the most part.

I was reading the shop manual earlier trying to help someone and came across a page that mentioned making sure that fitting was screwed all the way in and flush or it would leak. There were drawings of how it should and should not look like but I was and am now too tired to comprehend, time to hit the rack soon and my eyes are hurtin' real good.
