Hi Everyone.

I picked up a 06 Yukon Denali for my family last month. Baby boy came on April 1st!!! I had the front diff and transfer case rebuilt and it ran strong. The mechanic says all the interior, suspension, brakes were in excellent condition. Now, the other day...I took a left...heard a pop. Then I wasn't accelerating anymore. The Drive and 3rd gear isnt engaging. Reverse, 2nd and 1st works.
He said that I have to rebuild the transmission.

My question is....could it be something else? What is the average price for a reubild? He quoted me $1800.

thanks for your help

Could have broken a sprag gear or sun shell in the trans, don't drive it, if you do, you will do more damage and the price will go up. $1,800 doesn't sound too bad. If you're capable of doing the R&R on the trans a good quality rebuilt trans and converter runs about $1,200-$1,500

I just was quoted $1750 for a re-build around here. My issue turned out to be something else which wasn't a rebuild so I lucked out.
