I have a 2007 Tahoe that I removed the 4L60 transmission from. I have rebuilt it with a few beefed up parts, so it is basically a 4L65 transmission and it is sitting in the garage.
I now am going to swap the transmission in my 08 Sierra 1500. I know it is the same M30 RPO code as the Tahoe. I'm wondering if there are any significant differences between the two transmissions or if they would actually be interchangeable?
The 07 Tahoe code on the transmission itself is 7KLD and the 08 Sierra code is 8LND.
I know there are probably small differences like metal vs. plastic accumulator pistons or things like that, but is there any reason I can't put the 07 transmission into the 08? Would they communicate differently or have differences in the actual valve body configurations or the like?
