So i took my truck into the dealership to be checked out. anyone tell me if you have experienced this issue, and what it may be.

where i work, my truck is parked on a slight incline. nothing major, just noting this incase it has something to do with it.....
so i back out of my parking spot. put the truck in drive, and it revs and doesnt go anywhere.....
it acts as if its still in nuetral. then i put it into nuetral or park and then drive again, and its fine....WTF is going on? the dealership hasnt found anything yet.

also, with my tranny, it doesnt seem to engage in gear as quickly as it should when shifting from reverse to drive. it has a bit of a delay. not like my rental burb i just got. it has twice as many miles as my truck(26K) and it shifts into gear instantly.

any help or comments?

Glad I'm not the only one to experience this problem, eventually my dad said the cable for the shifter popped off on him one day. He fixed it and since then I haven't experienced any issues but it does have me worried.

Sun shell? Well, I got a call from the dealership yesterday. They asked if my intake was an oil filter. I said not that I know of. They said that on some oiled intakes, they oil gets sucked into the throttle body and messes something up....... How the f! Does that mess up my transmission?!?!?

Location
SW CT,
Does it happen any other time, or just after being parked on an incline? Is the trans oil level where it should be? The dealership is grasping at straws, yes some over-oiled air filter elements have been known to coat the throttle body with oil causing driveability issues...but not the issue you are describing.

I didn't think it could be my intake. I don't even think it was oiled. It's nothin special. And yeah the only 2 times I've noticed it do this have been at work on a slight incline. But I have noticed other times that it doesn't engage in hear nearly as quickly as it should.

My driveway has a slope to it and sometimes I will put it in reverse and coast to he bottom when I give it gas it will not engage. I put it up in drive and then back in reverse and then everyting is fine. I have talked to my trans guy and the only thing he could come up with is maybe the fluid pick up doesn't have enough fluid yet being on a hill. I don't think so since it's been parked in the same spot every day for 3 yrs now and has only done it prob 5 times.

I park on an incline too, and I've never experienced this.

Incidentally, is your rental Burb an '08 or '07? If so, it has the 4-speed trans in it (I think). I can't stand the trans in my '09...

No. Mines a '12. Even have troubles when it's in my garage. It's been cold here lately. Guessing that's some of the problem. But I had it Staul out on me the other day. Back out of the garage down my drive. Put it in drive and it shut off.... I'm about ready to trade it in
