I had my battery disconnected for most of the day yesterday while I removed the seats to do a thorough shampoo of the carpets. Upon reconnecting it and going for a drive, I noticed my transmission shifting a decent amount later than usual for the 1-2 shift, as well as some slight hunting for gears.

Is this normal with a battery disconnect? Does it need to relearn its shift points or something?

yes it is possible but shouldn't take long getting back to how it usually feels.

Yes adaptive learning. My TCM did the same thing when i got a new transmission at 245k. First 5 miles it was slipping un same spots as prior then corrected itself.

I drove about 20 miles and it's still acting a bit funny... revving higher than usual before shifting.
