the 4L60E is designed to hande 360 FT LB of torque and the 5.3 liter is rated at 340 FT lb of torque, a tune puts you right at that mark.

That's why GM puts so much "torque management" in their stock tune. Pretty sad that this is their answer to a transmission that is not up to the task, just restricting the power to it.

well its sad that it was 2009 before they did anything about it (putting a 6l80E in its place)

That 4l60, 65, 70e's are junk.. JUNK and GM knows it that's absolutely the reason for the torque management in there. Long live the 6l80e!! All you did by getting a tune was speed up the inevitable with that junk. it's like the ol' 50/50 chance of getting one that aint gonna break by 50k miles..

Wel atleast you got your way, my tranny has not seemed to give any signs of issues, but then again i'm only at 19500k miles.
