I have a 97 Yukon that I recently put a used transmission in. When I am in OD it feels like it is slipping then catching, mostly on an incline but sometimes on flat ground. I went out of town yesterday on the interstate and when I switched to third gear it was fine. Not sure what is going on. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Chris

Possibly a TCC PWM (Torque Converter Clutch Pulsewidth Modulator) Valve. My 99 does this from time to time.

Did you rebuild the used tranny?? How many miles was on it?? I would agree it's probably the converter locking and unlocking. These 4L60Es are know to wear out that bore, the only way to fix is to drill and bush it ...

Transmission was supposed to be recently rebuilt? Will a new torque convertor fix it? When we installed it the torque convertor wasn't seated properly and we put quite a bit of pressure on it before we realized it. Could the convertor have been damaged?

I heard alot of good Review about the Lucas Tranny FIX, its less than $10, just try it,

after you Pour the Lucas Bottle, after 60 Miles of driving it will get better.

If that is the case you didn't hurt the convertor, you hurt the pump. I've actually seen guys snap the ears off the pump from installing a convertor 'wrong' or trying to install it when the tranny is still in the vehicle. Even on a rebuilt trans, if they didn't specifically address that pulse solenoid issue it can still be the culprit. It's typically outside the scope of a normal rebuild ...

You should pour some on your headliner and see if it fixes that. If it does pour some on your tires next. :D
