I've decided to replace the G80 rear end in my 1997 2 door with a Tru Trac.
not for off roading but rather to tame the NH weather and my inclined driveway.
Its beyond my skill level but a local mechanic will do it if I get all the parts.
Truck currently has a 3.73 ratio rear end; Im not sure about axle spline count but this is a stock rear end, so whatever the factory put in there is still there.

1) What all parts (and PNs if possible) are required for this upgrade?
2) I've heard/read about needing over sized bearings and races not sure if this is fact or not??
3) Anything else I should be doing while having this work performed, like if the axles get pulled out all the way, replace seals???
4) Anyone have this done and can advise labor hours/cost required

Appreciate any inputs.
Thanks

It's not the cheapest thing to do, but I've been very happy with the swap in my vehicle.

I had to have new axles in addition to replacing the factory diff with the Tru Trac. Yes, oversized bearings (seals too?) are needed for the Tru Trac installation. It's a good idea to replace the seals while you're in there (given the year of your vehicle, no better time than when things are already out being replaced).

I didn't do the work myself (had a local shop that I trust do the work), so I can't comment on the actual hours involved.

However, with the Tru Trac, Yukon Axles, Moroso Diff Cover, miscellaneous bearings/seals, fluids, etc., labor and taxes, I was out ~$2100.
