hey all, this just started out of nowhere, truck wont start, it will crank, sounds like it catches, but onlygoes for about 1 second and then dies.

i do have a remote start, not sure if that's related to it, i have had it for over a month with no issues

i also have a CAI, i did clean the MAF

the message center says security and service 4wd all the time.

any suggestions?

Check your clamps on the CAI make sure thete tight. Is it just a remote or a aftermarket alarm/remote start? Kinda sounds more on the remote start side because of the security light on your message center.

Push the e-brake down a few clicks so the auto headlights don't come on and then turn the key all the forward without starting it and let it sit for bout 10-15mins and then try to start it.

Turn the key to the on postion with the windows down and the driver door open. You should hear the fuel pump prime - Its a low noise that will last about 2 seconds. If you dont hear it the fuel pump is bad. also, how old is the fuel filter?

and one more thing... Is there gas in the tank?

Something like that yea. Went through 5 iterations of that to reprogram the security code for my PCM when my autostart module failed.

Thanks all, I had this happen in my GRand am too. But I didnt think the 10 Mins in on thing would work because the keys are not chipped in my Yukon.

I did try it once, but that is all I had time for this morning.

It's not out of gas, that was my first thought so I got a Jerry can full of gas.

Also I can hear the fuel pump prime.

What did you use to clean the MAF? You can screw that thing up is you don't use the right stuff.

I had the problem before I cleaned the maf, and the truck should run with the maf unplugged, it'd just run rich, which is does not run at all.
