I haven't seen a sure fire way to obtain accurate valve of a high mileage vehicle.

Is it clean other than the aforementioned issues?

At that age and mileage, typically buyers are looking for a clean body/interior above all else (at least in my experience). Fixing an O2 sensor can be done for cheap in a driveway on Sunday, body work and upholstery cannot.

If the thing is beat up and needs work, it's not worth much.

I recently sold my 2000 Suburban 2500 with 212,000 miles. I had it listed on CL for $6500 with a manifold exhaust leak and O2 sensor codes and my phone was blowing up. I ended up selling it for $4500 after finding out the rear end needed a rebuild. It was one of only a few 3/4 ton Suburbans listed for sale in the PNW under $10k at the time, though.

I feel like when making a craigslist ad, be honest but dont do the whole pros and cons bs. Just talk about the truck and its options/features. If someone calls who is interested and askes about any problem areas, be honest. If it has a leak, say so. If it needs an o2 sensor then say so. But you dont have to advertise on cl that it needs parts right off the bat, it discourages people.

Clean it inside and out, take good pictures, and list it.

Maybe fix the o2 sensor yourself, make it so that it only has "1" thing that could need attention instead of a "list". Makes a difference looking as the buyer.

When I was looking for a Denali a little over a year ago, if a vehicle wasnt cleaned inside and out I wouldn't even consider the vehicle in my options. But that's because I'm a professional detailer and I'm extremely meticulous about cleanliness. Lol. But I also didn't want to buy someone else's mess. So maybe a good detail and good photos for your ad would help. Just my :2cents:

These trucks in chicago with those miles would sell for 5 to 7 thousand with those miles but with everything working. I just did my ac front and rear, had to drop 1700. I have 154k and use my truck for work as well leisure.

Fix the ac at least if its minor. It is summer time. Someone would grab it for a work truck if it had working ac

OK serious question - you said you have it listed for $5,000 but in a few days you will take $2,500 for it...... so doesn't that mean you would happily take $2,600 right now?

Post a link to your ad-

Fix the AC and oxygen sensor. The O2 sensor should be a really easy fix. But if the AC needs a compressor, then but the least expensive compressor you can find. Hell, buy a working USD one if you can find one. In the summer, NOBODY wants to buy a car with no AC. Replacing the AC compressor actually isn't even that hard, but you need a vacuum pump and manifold gauges to properly recharge the system. Most shops will do it for you if you bring it in after you replace the compressor yourself. But if you get the whole job done at a shop, be prepared to spend at least $1200-$1500. I did mine myself for around $550 total, and that was with me buying a brand new AC Delco compressor and drier, the orifice tube, PAG oil and R134, new belt (both belts actually) and tensioner, and then paying a shop to vacuum and recharge the system.

It's hard to come up with a retail value on a 200,000 mile truck. I haven't gotten any bites on CL, because I think I was too honest about the o2 sensor, and abs sensor..... But the dash lights are on, so I figured I'd be straight forward. I haven't even gotten any low-ballers, which is unusual for CL.
