Looking at tuning my 07 Yukon with 5.3 and wanted to see what my options are. Im not close enough to have the in person tuning done and I've been on your website several time looking at the different ways to have the tuning done. Whats the advantages to each of the different ways to have tuning done from traditional to Autocal. Thanks for the info.

Quick breakdown:

Traditional: you fill out a form, and a tune is based on your specifications on an ECM/TCM, modules are mailed to you. You will need to find a shop to perform the crank relearn

Scan Cable: you rent a cable to datalog with, you email us the datalogs along with your specifications, and a tune is built on an ECM/TCM, modules are mailed to you, you use the scan cable to perform the crank relearn, you gather another log to verify the tune in the vehicle. Once all looks good, you mail back cable (and stock modules if you desire).

AutoCal: everything is done via email, you use the AutoCal handheld to collect datalogs, email the logs in with your specs, we email you your tune, you load to the AutoCal and flash to your vehicle. The AutoCal is yours to keep, and can be used as a code reader as well as to tune other vehicles (up to 8).

So which method would you recommend for me. I'm adding a Airaid Jr. Intake and Magnaflow 12589 muffler and removing the resonator. This is all the mods I plan on doing. This is my wife's DD and I'm not trying to make it a race car just trying to get the most out of what is already there. What different tunes do you offer ie. performance, econo. Also I want to delete the AFM cause I'm seeing a little oil consumption. Thanks

I would recommend the scan cable tune, at least that way you are dialed in, and you are able to perform the crank relearn yourself, without going to a shop.

There aren't different tunes per se, more of a custom tune based on your desires (ie. shift points, octanes, mods). Performance and MPGs are pretty much hand in hand on gas tunes.

Ignore my ignorance as well, but I haven't nor will I be making any engine or exhaust mods to my Tahoe (other than possible tune), but I definitely want to get the most out of it. Would a simple tune take care of a little bit of HP and possible highway MPG increase?

I'm in the Dallas area so the 12/6 Fort Worth event is enticing if I'm really going to notice a difference.
