Hi all,
I have an interesting issue that I've been experiencing. Since installing an aftermarket Sony head unit (carplay, backup camera) my key fob became intermittent, sometimes it works then it doesn't. Today, all my tire pressure monitors went blank. I know both of these issues are tied to the remote control door lock receiver module, is it possible it went bad at the same time as my install? I'm starting to think that because of the U0184 code (lost communication with radio), it is somehow causing issues with the remote door lock receiver. I've read elsewhere that you should not program modules with an aftermarket head unit and that it may cause issues with the CAN. Does anyone have any experience with this? I know I could go back to the factory head unit but would lose all the functionality I gained with the new Sony. I coupled the head unit install with a PAC RP5-GM31, to retain steering wheel controls/chimes so that could be a potential culprit as well. I'm super bummed that something as simple as a new head unit could cause this but it is what it is. Hopefully, someone can shed some light on this for me. Thanks!
