when I bought new ones for my 01 Tahoe and my 04 Escalade, I never siliconed the new one. Mine were TYC and they were fine. I think it's just something about the silicone from the factory...

Mine aren't TYC nor OEM... They are eBay, made in china kind'a crap, lol.

Nice progress man!

Thanks dude! Unfortunately progress takes a halt now. My wife officially started driving the Yukon yesterday. My F-150 was her daily driver but I took it back. She destroys cars. Keeps them dirty, get's them scraped up, spills drinks inside, scratched up on the exterior, nasty, etc... All that in 8 months. So now I have to spend a few hundred on bringing my F-150 back up to par. Shampoo the interior, new headlamps (mine are yellow), paint touch ups, paint the roof (its faded), etc... Once I'm done with all that I'm continuing the progress on my Yukon.

when you put the fog lights in, did you change them in place or have to remove the plastic on the bumper to get at the screwholes? I glanced at mine last year when i got them, and it seemed almost impossible to get at the bolts from underneath the truck

I didn't remove the plastic. I too thought I would have to do that but the trick to it is to grab the plastic right above the holes & bend it back. Put the screw in through the bottom pointing up & screw the nut up on top!

Well guys just thought I'd update you on the progress so far.

I know I said I'd pause my progress but I can't help myself, lol. I'm a true believer in customizing every car I own. I enjoy them that much more. That being said... Here's the latest which consists of a nice wash & wax, saying farewell to all the chrome on the body, installing a new set of park lamps (old ones had water in them & chrome was gone) & a new set of LED tail lamps.

I went with SATIN black which is not too glossy. I also went with the same satin black in the rear 1/4 pillars. Although in the below picture they look glossy because I had literally just sprayed them & they were still wet.

The new park lamps made a HUGE difference in person. The old ones were really dull.

One MAJOR hurdle has been crossed. Last week I purchased a near mint set of 2012 Tahoe LTZ wheels with BRAND NEW Michelin LTX tires on them for $700. The guy was crazy! He really didn't care for the wheels. He installed 24's so he had no use for them. One man's trash is another man's treasure. Anyway, last night I finally sold my 22's & now my truck sits on the new Tahoe wheels. Here are the pictures!

looks amazing man! i was planning on getting all my chrome painted as well. what kind of paint did you use? id also suggest if you color match the GMC logo. taping off the chrome in the process. so your end result is a black GMC logo with a chrome outline. itll look clean

That was a steal....looks good!!

Yeah man. Today I sat back just looking at those wheels & I just can't get over how cheap I got them!

I used plastidip for the bumpers. After the plastidip I threw some "Satin black" on top. No clear coat. I wanted to leave it that way.

I contemplated doing the black "GMC" logo as well but it's my wife's truck. Not going to continue making it more "my taste" when it's hers. I have 3 other tos to mess around with, lol. Plus, I can't continue making it so masculine, lol... Before finding these wheels I told my wife I was going to paint the chrome wheels black & she just said
