I like to sit up quite a bit when driving, unlike a lot of people who like to drive as if they're laying in a recliner. The headrests in my 2010 Tahoe lean forward, and that keeps my head pushed forward, which is totally unnatural. Who the hell designed this crap?

Nevermind with my question above. What I really want to know is if there is some kind of aftermarket headrest replacement that isn't in constant contact with the back of my head?

Do your headrests have a button on them? If so, push it and return them to their standard position. They should be flat and level with the seatback when they're in their normal position.

It's not really safe to be sitting upright if I have heard correctly. You're put really close to the airbag and if you're on the taller side, an accident that centers around your B Pillar would most likely hurt your head and neck from the roof crumple

Anyways, the headrest shouldn't be even with the top of your head, it should be more of the lower part of your skull (above the neck)

How to remove the God-awful forward-pushing front-row bucket seat headrests: http://www.ehow.com/how_5824054_remove-tahoe-headrest.html

I also removed the second-row bucket seat headrests and placed them in the front-row bucket seat headrest slots, and now my head, and the head of my passenger, aren't being pushed unnaturally forward. Those previously second-row headrests are about two inches or so less forward leaning, and make for a comfortable sitting arrangement in the front-row bucket seats.

The added benefit is there is a much clearer view of what's behind me with the second-row headrests no longer there.

Would using the second row headrests of a 60/40 split bench also be possible as a replacement for the front-row bucket seat headrests?

They changed headrests from 2007 to 2010+ the 2010+ do push forward more. The 2007 Style sit flush with the seat back. Personally, I like being able to sit back in the seat and have my head straight, rather than cocked back.

If you need a set of 2007 headrests that sit flush, I have a pair of Ebony leather ones.

Thanks for the lead, however since I have a Tahoe PPV I would need the 2007 style ebony cloth headrests, as seen inside this Silverado: http://i910.photobucket.com/albums/ac301/sj586/tsb/02.jpg

I have the same problem. If you still have the 2007 headrests I am interested in them. I will send you a PM as well.
