Currently I have a 15" RE Audio in a big ported box in the back hatch area. I'm looking into doing a prefabbed sealed box underneath the rear seat with 2 10" Sundowns.

Curious if anyone on here has subs under the rear seat and how they sound.

I love deep bass, the 15" with box tuned low ~28 hz fulfills my need for loud bass haha. Just looking to free up some space for a cleaner look inside. And I've heard many sundowns and they bang hard!

i use a dual 10" under rear seat box with 2 polk mm1040svc. enclosure is sealed so i get very accurate and tight bass. it is only when i pack up the cab with a lot of stuff that it begins to sound like it is ported and a bit louder.

^^^ DO you have any pics of this install? I've got a Kicker L5 10" sub that I'm wanting to mount under the rear seats along side the Dynamic Audio amp but I'm not sure it's going to fit. The right rear seat has the most space underneath it but even when I lay a 3/4" piece of mdf under the sub and lower the seat, the sub surround is touching the carpet on the bottom side of the seat. There is no room for excursion of the cone.

If this doesn't work, I'm going to have to either build a box between the front buckets where the console was or just mount the box in the cargo area. The idea of just leaving the box in the cargo area makes my skin crawl because it's so unfinished looking. I like my truck to be more presentable than that.

Id be curious on your setup also Sunlit. I took out all the VHS and a TV tuner out my escalade from under the rear seat. I reused the VHS mounting bracket to mount my amp, and 4 crossovers for my components. I think you have the big box that is offered on the internet. I was thinking about making my own for the passenger side area under the seat and keeping my amp/crossover setup. You have any dimensions of just one side of the box??

well had to move from kingman az back to tucson that same day so I never got pics of the subs. still have not fully gotten the suv empty again yet but hope to try soon. as for the rest of it... it uses polk db6501 components in all the side doors, kenwood ktv-696 dvd receiver with added on nav, sat radio and bluetooth modules. amped by a 5-channel xr-5s.
