Glad I could help. Spent a lot of time trying to find this information before I finally figured it out for myself. Hopefully, having it posted here will make it easier for others that want to add the gauge.

Hey, so I stumbled upon this thread as I am doin the gauge in my 07 classic silverado and I pulled the bin file and 00x000059 is already 00 on mine yet trans temp is inop....am I maybe looking at the wrong slot?
Every one in my experience has been 00 at 0x0059 for the gauge to function, and 04-06 are usually set to 01. However, I have only looked 03-06. I would think an 07 classic would be the same, but I haven't looked at these. I would check the stepper motor and connections. The circuit board traces are also easily damaged when changing stepper motors, so that is something else to check.

So am I understanding this right....the red TT slot is trans temp? If it is then when I read my chip it is at 00 already. I checked and reflowed my silder joints on the stepper and check voltage readings comparing the pin of the stepper to the little solder dot on the board that has the trace to the pad, and all checks out but no motor operation... any suggestions?

Bad sensor maybe? The sensor is in the manifold pressure switch on a 2003 Tahoe. Not sure if it is the same on a truck.

Todd has a good suggestion, but I can't think of anything else to check. It takes it a lot longer to come off the bottom mark than the engine temperature, I assume you have given the transmission plenty of time to warm up?

Yea, I have gave it plenty of drive time to warm up. I have access to a scan tool so I'll check what trans temp is reading in the pcm and tcm

2006 Silverado. I have added everything I need and checked programming. It was already 00.

What else can be done? I have a tech 2 and subscription for programming with acdelco.

My truck has working trans temp in the computer, because it is successfully logged with HP tuners.
