I am considering adding a Back Up Camera to my Tahoe. I would like to use the OEM model with the RearView Mirror Display. Has anyone here performed this install? I was curious how hard it is to wire in.

Also, has anyone found the kit for a reasonable price? I have found it here for $770 but that is a little more than I wanted to spend.

I know there are several cheaper products, under $100, but I really wanted the OEM setup. I was just hoping to find one priced in the middle.

Thanks

I would love to know the answer to this as well. I hate nav but I want a backup camera. I wonder if someone can get all the GM part numbers together so we could piece mill it together through gmpartsdirect.com ????

Got any pics of this OEM setup?

I can't imagine that it would be that complicated although the wiring might be a ***** since it needs to be tied into the reverse gear.

The link I posted "claims" to be all the OEM equipment included in a kit for the upgrade. It says typical install time is 1-2 hours. I like the idea but not for that price. $750 seems to be a bit much considering the mirror can be found for the low $400s new. The camera and harnessess can't be that much.

As another poster suggested, if the parts list was available maybe it could be pieced together on GMPartsdirect.com

The camera and fascia for the rear may be $350... it's more than you think. You need to replace the whole fascia piece I believe

It looks like to me the fascia is the same but there is a square in the middle of it that would pop out and the camera piece would go there.
