i tried porting and polishing my own TBI...turns out i grinded the edge of the throttle plate too coarsely and now my engine light is on because it idles at too high of an rpm. i tried locating a TBI off a 5.3 at a junkyard to get that throttle plate but didnt happen. decided i might as well just buy a performance one online. the one im looking at is 85mm...would that cause any problems with my CAI fitting? pretty sure stock is 80mm. anyways it comes with a spacer too and i know for the money they arent worth it, but it comes anyways so should i use it?? heres the one im looking at http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PFS-69726/

Stock is 78mm...You could go to a 102mm TB but you wont see any more gains than if you had the stock one ported....

I use this guy...

the 85mm TB just came in the mail. i put it on last night and when i started the truck this morning, it revved up to 4 grand. i got afraid so i immediately killed the ignition. the throttle plate is completely closed, the TB is not putting tension on the throttle cable at idle so i do not know whats causing it to rev up. did i maybe just not give the IAC valve enough time to bring the truck back down to a reasonable idle? im desperate for help here.

started it back up and it idles around 1100 rpm now. it shakes like it has a big cam and when you hit the gas, it will continue to rev up after you release the pedal. i put the stock TB back on and hope this place will give me my money back considering the whole thing was a screw up.
