Im doing headers, and exhaust this week. I only have an intake other than that. Would these upgrades be ideal for the tune? Or is there more I should do before the tune?

You should do your tune after you have done all the mods that you intend to do, or have him tune it so that it will be ready for future mods that you plan on doing

Thats my question. Is there more stuff I really should do before the tune other than headers, intake, and exhaust? Im trying to get a good horsepower and torque increase.

There is always a MSD setup but it does not make a huge difference that will drastically effect tune. But it will certainly help improve the running and performance of engine.

On an OBS vortec you can go full MSD conversion for under $500. Mine full conversion happens to be going in by Wednesday. That is coil, wires, cap, rotor and digital box. And you switch to plain copper core plugs.

If you plan on some rocker arms, do that before tune. The variables where parts would affect tunes are environment conditions, air flow thru the engine, fuel density, internal temps, gear ratio's, tire sizing and such.

Thats what I was told. Do MSD ignition and then tune. It wont make a drastic change, but it will do a little bit more for me. What one would I need to buy?

This is a complete setup. If you dizzy gear is still good forget the msd dizzy and just grab a cap&rotor and every thing else. Add some autolite 104 plain copper core plugs or acdelco equivalent gapped at.055". That will be the best ignition system you can get that is legal for the truck.
