I'm currently having an issue with my Yukon but after that is taken care of I want to do some upgrades. Before this issue I was saving money specifically to put into my truck. I have saved approximately 2500 dollars to put into my baby. My question is I would like some opinions on what this money should go toward to get the best bang for my buck-truck? I am not to concerned on my gas mileage. I want to increase horsepower without blowing my motor up. Obviously this could happen any day but what is my best route? A good example of what I don't want to do is that a buddy of mine saved up forever and bought a turbo for his ride, blew her up. Without any other upgrades that just seemed ignorant to me.
A run-down of my ride. I own a 1996 Yukon GT. Its got the 5.7 Vortec. Everything on it is stock. I definitely need to change to exhaust because there is a leak. Any advise on a brand to go with? Also considering headers while I change the exhaust out, anyone got a good brand on that? I'm not looking for anything obnoxiously loud.
