Upgrading 2007 Tahoe ltz boxes radio

Trying to upgrade 2007 ltz bose Tahoe with 2012 bose dts Dolby radio when installed volume goes to max and cannot be adjusted through radio volume or steering wheel controls...only back plug not connected is USB connector plug on back side..looking for any help getting this radio in correctly

Assuming Bose box radio means the 07 OEM non Navi tuner correct?

Also assuming the 2012 tuner is an OEM non Navi tuner from a 2012 truck, right?

Whatcha using to program the VIN into the 2012 unit to unlock it?
