hey guys, not sure if i should post this in drivetrain or suspension but here it is,

im looking into being able to tow a 20-25ft(4-7000lbs dry) toy hauler with my 96 4x4 2 door. id like to use the hoe because im planning on getting it lifted to use as my beach/mountain rig and would like it to be able to tow some toys around with it too. (6" BDS with 33-35" tires)
i read somewhere the max load on the rear axel is 6200bs. id like to use it for more than that if possible. (is that stupid? because im pretty sure it can tow more just not hold more weight on the axle)

so my question is really, should i upgrade the rear axle to a 3/4 ton or maybe just to even the 1500 silverado axle? i read that those handle more weight, and should i upgrade my transmission to a 4L80 or keep the stock 4L60 and possibly regear it and put a really good tranny cooler on it? and if i did any of this, what else would need to be done to truck?

im brand new to building trucks and would like to try and have some fun and learn from others mistakes and possibly my own along the way if anyone has any insight on what i should do.

thanks in advanced!

Have you hauled anything with your rig like it is?
You will spend alot of money trying to accomplish your goal.

The braking system is the very most important.
Lots of work to be done there.
Another thing is tire side wall, if you really must do this, a 33 on a 20" wheel is about the safest option.
You don't want alot of side wall.

The two door is not alot of vehicle to start with, the higher you put it in the air, the less control capability you will have over the trailer.

Upgrading the axle is a good idea.
You would need the heavier rated springs, too.
Especially with the axle wrap you will get while pulling that load with a lift block.
