My wife just called and said the Denali popped a message saying Service Stability and then died. No power. Nothing. She made it over to the shoulder and is waiting for AAA.
The car has power, she can play the radio and control the windows, but it will not start. No clicking.
The threads I've read about this have talked about it going in to limp mode. This is like the engine fuse is out. But she's along side the freeway and I dont want her messing around with traffic.

Backgroung: This past winter I replaced the intake gaskets. The tranny is a new one from the dealer form 2011. And there was 50% left on the oil life before her trip. (as if that matters)

Anyone heard of this? Please tell me it's an easy fix. If not, it's going to be towed back home to Placerville and I'll going to sell target shots for $10 per shotgun blast to raise money for a new car.

It shouldn't have died with just the service stability, there could be some underling issue. It would be interesting to see what codes are there.

The check engine light didn't come on. And she has a code scanner in the car.
Over the past 2 years, I've repalced the MAF sensor, intake gauskets, tranny, both front hubs, and the gauge cluster...156,000 miles total.

AAA arrived and they are towing it home.

Made it home and after dinner we looked at it a little closer. My wife looked at all the ignition fuses with a tester and I hooked up our jeep to jump start it just in case. (even though the battery is less than 6 months old.) Nothing. There is a faint click in the dash when I turn the key to start. Everything else works. The message pops up "stability sys disabled" as if we turned off the system with the button.
But either way... that shouldn't kill the engine.

any other ideas?

Checked this morning.. I don't have that specific fuse. What sort of was close is a 50 amp MBEC. It tested good.
I plugged in another code reader for my duramax and it said I didn't have the ignition on. It wouldn't connect. So... obviously its the ignition, but with all the fuses good I'm not sure what else it could be. I swapped the relays and it still wouldn't start. It's almost like a total power drain when I try to start it. Maybe a power wire grounded out somewhere? There are miles of wires. I'm leaning more to the shotgun idea...

LOL... My wife knows and she's not afraid to get her hands dirty. She helped me replace my engine in my old K5 blazer and I needed her small hands to install a supercharger in our maxima. She rides dirt and street bikes and shoots a glock. A lonely tear falls down my cheek just thinking about her.

BTW... I found the problem. It was the 20 amp fuse to the PCM. Thank God it something simple. With school starting... money is short supply.

It blew again this morning. Is the PCM the only thing on that circuit? I dont' want to buy a new module and then turn out to be something else. Since it gave an message about Service Stabilty SYS. Might have to pay the man and hook it up to a machine to track it down.
