Urgent- Please help identify part

Hey guys, I was replace my oil pressure sensor this afternoon and this component circled in the picture popped off in the process and I cannot identify what this part is? Can someone please help me identify what is in the picture? I am really not sure how this came off.

Looks like the vent tube for your transmission or transfer case. Not a big deal but it is supposed to stay up high enough to not allow water/ contaminants into it.

Thank you for your response! I thought I had broken something when I was removing the oil pressure sensor. This vent you mentioned has a large piece of metal dangling from it. I must have broken some kind of metal mount/bracket that is used to hold it in place.

I asked my son to turn the ignition enough for the radio to play, he didn't understand listen, and turned the car on with the oil pressure sensor not screwed in. There is oil everywhere, it made it extremely difficult to identify what the part is.

Metal bracket should be bolted to top transmission stud.

Thanks David. I recently had some transmission work done. I am guessing that the transmission shop did not install the bracket upon reinstalling the tranny. Looks like I will need to drop it off again for them to correct..
