Used Transmission VIN Lookup?

Hey All!

I just got my hands on a used (70k ?) 6L80e from another 2007 Yukon Denali to replace my current trans. I was wondering if I can look up the VIN of the donor car by the trans info (serial number?)

I am fairly certain the only way would be thru some internal gm department, otherwise the best you may be able to determine is when and where it was made by some deciphering of the serial number via a gm dealer, there may a tool online for it, but not to get the donor vin
used transmissions are a gamble no matter what anyway
